PASTORAL MINISTRIES
Parish Ministries serve as the backbone of our parish, playing pivotal roles in all church activities. The following ministries are actively working within our parish.
Thirubala Sakhyam
Thirubalasakhyam or Holy childhood is an assembly of Christian children who have not received their first Holy Communion . This communion of children is set up to mold the religious life of growing children and instill wisdom and Christian values in them and so that they grow up as valuable for the family, the church, society and God.
Catechism
Catechism is a text that contains a summary of all the fundamental Christian beliefs of the faith, that is formulated in a way that facilitates their understanding, and it is disseminated using various mediums of communication and teaching.Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI (Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger) is regarded as the force behind the formation of Catechism. The ‘Catechism of the Catholic Church (CCC)’ was promulgated by John Paul II on October 11, 1992. More >>
Altar Service
Altar server is a lay assistant to a member of the clergy during a Christian liturgy. An altar server attends to supporting tasks at the altar such as ringing the altar bell, carrying incense and censer, present the bread, wine and water to the priest, assist him when he receives the gifts from the faithful and help washing the hands of the priest etc. Currently at our parish there are 8 Altar boys and 9 girls getting guided and groomed by our beloved parish priest and their present mentor Br Delwin. CML
Cherupushpa Mission League (CML) is a lay apostolic organization started in 1947 by Rev.Fr. Joseph Maliparambil, founder Director, which promote the missionary zeal among the members of the Catholic, church especially children and the youth. It had promoted indigenous vocation to priesthood and consecrated life in Catholic Church. More >>
Mathruvedhi
Mathruvedhi is an organization for mothers of a Parish. The aim of the organization is the revival of families through mothers and help raising the community in a life deep routed in Christian faith. A devout and pious woman is always alike a scented candle and a beacon of hope to her family, church and society. With mathruvedi members getting involved in every activities make it more maternal in nature. More >>
Pithruvedhi
Pithruvedhi Is a pious organization at a parish level and is the real strength of the church. The members actively participate in all activities of the church and continue to be the think-tank in the parish to ensure the families, church and the community reach greater heights of success in all endeavors of the parish community. St. Sebastian Youth
The St. Sebastian’s Church Indiranagar-Halasuru Youth Group for 2023-2024 was inaugurated on the 11th of June. The group works under the guidance of the Vicar, Fr. Shijo Kodakkathanathu and Br. Delvin Vallikudam. As part of the Year of Care initiative, a 27 member youth team visited the orphanage at St Michael’s Home and distributed food and other essentials to the inmates.
Church Choir
The St. Sebastian's Church Choir is well-known for its vibrant singing. The Choir group leads the parish with their music and singing, to have everybody take part in church service in high spirits. The ensemble of singers is dedicated to their efforts and a lot of them put in hours of practice before an event. More >>
