CHERUPUSHPA MISSION LEAGUE

Cherupushpa Mission League is a pious organization comprising of catechism children who have received the sacrament of Holy Communion. The CML unit in St. Sebastian Church, Indira Nagar/Halasuru engages in activities that instill the spirit of mission in the minds of our younger generation. By participating in CML activities children get an opportunity to practice the faith they listen and learn about in the faith formation classes. All activities are planned, organized and executed by children with guidance from their teachers. This dimension of CML fosters integral development of children by enabling them to build values of trust, team work and self-less action. The duty entrusted to every Christian by Jesus is one of evangelization, “Go into all the world and proclaim the good news to the whole creation” Mark (16:15). CML is a forum that equip our children to take up this mission as they grow up in their faith.

The slogan of CML is “Love, Sacrifice, Service & Suffering”. St. Therese of child Jesus is the heavenly patroness and St Thomas, St. Francis Xavier and St. Alphonsa are the co-patrons of CML.

A Short Glimpse of CML Activities: 2022 - 23

Under the strong guidance and patronage of our vicar Fr. Shijo Kodakkathanathu VC, our children have actively participated in multiple activities in the year 2022-2023. A team of around 20 students participated in the CML Platinum Jubilee celebration held at St. Mary’s church Ramamurthy Nagar. Our children visited an orphanage in Hennur and spent time interacting and playing with the children. The visit helped our students to develop a sense of gratitude for all the blessings they have received in their life and also to be generous and kind to people around them. As part of our charity initiative, the students were also able to serve a meal in a slum region near Domlur. Apart from these the CML members of our parish actively participated in all the church activities like Onotsavam, Parish feast, and Parish Day. They also actively participated in the Holy Week liturgy by leading the church decoration on Palm Sunday.

Looking Forward: CML Activities 2023 – 24

The CML office bearers attended the Activity Year Inauguration function held at Sacred Heart Church Whitefield on 25th June 2023. The new team of office bearers for the year 2023 – 24 took charge officially during the CML Inauguration held on July 2nd, 2023.

Aligning with the “Year of Care” initiative of the Mandya diocese, the CML unit plans to take multiple activities this year too like supporting the FIAT mission, education support to a needy child, food distribution to nearby orphanages etc.
